Ineos Restarts Ethylene Cracker in France
Nov 5th, 2010Ineos has restarted the 775,000t/year ethylene (C2) cracker at its Lavera refinery in southern France, the company said.
The nationwide shutdown in France over pension reform has led to the force majeure declaration by Ineos Oxide on all its C2 and C3 derivatives at the site.
The Switzerland-based chemical company has the capacity to produce 540,000t/year propylene (C3).
LyondellBasell’s Berre L’Etang cracker in France, which has the capacity to produce 460,000t/year of ethylene and 230,000t/year of propylene, was also affected due to the strike.
